What is it?

The GIS Girl is running an accountability challenge for everyone who wants to learn or improve their geospatial skills and progress their geospatial journey in 2023.

Who is it for?

Everyone who is looking to build and develop their geospatial skills; or those looking to break into the geospatial industry; advance their current career or simply looking to land a new job in geospatial. Whether you’re a fresh graduate, a novice in the industry or a pro, you’ll find something for you.

When does it start?

The challenge will begin on March 1, 2023.

Where is it taking place?

On WhatsApp, sort of 😀

And the good news? It’s completely self-paced! So, pick a convenient time during your day and get learning!

How do I participate?

We’re glad you asked! 🙂 To advance in anything, you have to do the work, there are no easy routes! But…., we’re here to support you and keep you going. It’s 100 days so you can begin and maintain consistency while building habits and keeping yourself accountable to other participants.

Two main rules of this challenge are:

  • You have to spend at least 45minutes to 1 hour daily for 100 days learning, upskilling or doing an activity that advances you towards your geospatial goal,
  • Daily, for the entire 100-days period, you must share a “progress statement” in the WhatsApp group on what you learnt or did that day and/or what you are planning to work on the day after.

If you’re convinced this is for you, indicate your interest to participate by completing this short form.

Before you begin, think about what you want to achieve by the 8th of June, 2023.

Establish your learning objectives, growth goals or skills that you believe would take you to the next level professionally. Then work backwards, and create a plan on how you will tackle and progress towards that goal each week and then break it down daily.

And, if you’re starting from scratch or simply need a nudge on some of the things available out there, we’ll provide you with a list of things that you can work on to help get you started or motivated to trudge along.

Happy Learning!
